On January 3, Senate President pro Tempore Mike McGuire (D-North Coast) announced the Senate’s committee membership assignments for the 2025-26 Senate Democratic Leadership Team, Legislative Session, and First Extraordinary Session. On December 27, Speaker Robert Rivas announced California Assembly committee chairperson appointments for the 2025 legislative year.
