California's Election Day is November 3rd. Here are resources to help you make informed decisions about the future of your community!

Key Dates 
  • October 5: Counties mail vote-by-mail ballots to registered voters, and early voting begins.
  • October 19: Deadline to register to vote for the general election.
  • October 20-November 3: Same Day Registration available.
  • November 3: Election Day. Vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked by this date to be counted.
  • November 10: All vote-by-mail ballots must be received
  • December 11: Secretary of State finalizes all election outcomes by releasing the Statement of the Vote.

Californians will vote on 14 propositions and 196 races, including Governor, the State Legislature, and Congress.

Local Ballot Propositions Affecting Families

County of San Diego, Measure B

The San Diego County Health & Safety Act is a proposed countywide sales tax that creates local funding for the Tijuana River sewage crisis, childcare, healthcare, food security, and public safety.

Marin County, Measure P: County Childcare Initiative

Marin County voters will consider Measure P, a countywide childcare initiative, that would establish a 15-year Marin County parcel tax expected to generate approximately $12.5 million annually for affordable child care, early education, early childhood workforce compensation, and facility improvements.

  • Supporters: Our Kids Marin (sponsor), Marin County Supervisor Stephanie Moulton-Peters, Lori Frugoli, District Attorney, County of Marin, Congressman Jared Huffman, State Senator Mike McGuire, State Assemblymember Damon Connolly, Novato Unified School Board Trustee, Magali Limeta, and more.
  • Opposition: Multiple Marin County Residents.

Fresno County, Measure S:

Would fund transportation improvements through a countywide transportation measure.

  • Supporters: Vote Yes on S (sponsor), Central Valley Community Foundation, Jakara Movement, California Environmental Voters, SEIU 2015, Youth Leadership Institution, and more.
  • Opposition: No on S, Fresno County Supervisor Buddy Mendes, Fresno County Supervisor Nathan Magsig, Reedley Mayor Matthew Tuttle, Valley Watchdogs, San Joaquin Valley Taxpayers Association, Valley Young Republicans and more.

San Mateo County, Regional Transit Measure:

Would provide new funding for public transit across participating Bay Area counties, including San Mateo, San Francisco, and Santa Clara counties.
